Update Windows 8 to 8.1
Since the
latest Stable version of Microsoft Windows 8.1 rolled out to the public as an
update on April, people are searching for how to update their system to Windows
8.1.
Note: This is only for system having windows 8
already installed. Not for upgrading from windows 7 or other previous versions.
Things To Look Before Updating
- For the installation of the update, it is recommended to have a minimum free space of 3GB for 32-bit and 3.8GB for 64-bit in the hard disk.
- Check whether you have installed all the Windows Updates. From the control panel
- Disable your anti-virus. This is to ensure that anti-virus does not make any interruptions in the installation process.
Once the
above given steps are done, Continue to the updating process.
Downloading And Installing Windows 8.1
Go to Store in the Start Screen.
In the store
you will find a new heading called Update Windows.
If you are
not able to find that in the store Click Here!!!
Now click on
the Download button. Since the file is having a big size (above 3 GB) it may
take a while to complete the download, depending on the speed of your
connection.
So wait for
the download to complete
After the
download is completed, the updates will be installed automatically and you will
be prompted for a reboot
Wait for the
installation to complete, and configure the windows according to your needs.
Finally
Sometimes
after the update process, your metro apps may get uninstalled. But still the
tiles will be there in the start screen. You can download them again by
clicking on the tiles.
